Why in hell would I ever want to return to Vietnam?!

(cont. from prior page)

Vietnam is recovering economically.  It is quickly moving into a free-market, capitalistic country.  That communist police state we knew is becoming a thing of the past. Eighty percent of today’s Vietnamese were not alive during the war; they are busy working toward a better life.

I can tell you these things; but, these are just so many words.  For you to truly understand you must see today’s Vietnam and how it has moved onward.

If you do, you will develop a new and different memory of Vietnam.  It is quite possible that you will find some of your wounds healing.

You will not be alone; you will have your brother veterans with you to lean on.  And, it’s a great idea to think about bringing your wife or girlfriend (but not both) along. She’s already been dealing with Vietnam and now she can see it herself.

The hotels, transportation and food are modern.  Crime is rare and Vietnam is rated a very safe destination.

I understand that fear is a factor here.  You will have to deal you’re your feelings, memories and emotions.  But think back to the tough young man you were so long ago.  You can do it!  I know.  I have.

Let me tell you that I have yet to meet an American veteran who returned to Vietnam and was sorry he went.

All of us are becoming old farts now and this may be your sole remaining chance to have another look.  To re-visit your past.

Give this idea some thought.  Ask us some questions.  We hope you will.  Thanks.
